A Dark Supernatural Roleplay Experience in Second Life
The Hive
▽ THE HIVE //▹Chaos is Queen in a land without reason. Use this disorder and foster it —
twist the will of the world (and any who might cross you) to your whims…or risk being shackled by another.
▹Who are The Hive?
A loose collection of mostly Outsider, untamed, wild, and with little formal structure, The Hive cares only for personal status built on the back of age and achievement. While willing members are mostly Outsiders, it’s commonplace to force (or trick) another (mostly Mundane, sometimes Cambion) into a pact. Frequent hunts take place to gather up those without a pact and force them into The Hive beneath the guidance of one specific Outsider.
The Hive has no centralized location, with members scattered freely about and only bothering to come together on rare occasions.
▹Joining The Hive
There is little requirement in joining this Kith — at least for an Outsider. Simply choose to make a pact to the Archaeon, and you are allowed a place among the Kith. Mundane (and often Cambion) are seen as lower and lesser — both those in and outside The Hive.
Because only Outsiders are able to directly create a Pact with the Archaeon, others seeking to join The Hive must use these Outsiders as an intermediary. Unlike most other Kiths, this ‘in-between’ Pact has intense importance The Pact formed between individuals is seen as eternal, and as a Mundane’s only right to value.
For those Mundane in desperate need of the strength to keep from fading away, a quick Pact may appear to be a good option. And with the right Outsider, it could even be a great option. For many others, the power now held above them is akin to Ownership. The Outsider holding this ownership may do what they wish to the Mundane… and the more Pacts an Outsider is able to hold at a time, the stronger they are considered.
▹Pact Tribute
Expected Tributes can be many things and may vary from person to person…but within The Hive, sacrifice must be part of a person’s core ‘self’ — something important and which is considered a loss.
Upon gifting this, it is gone…and can never truly be regained…
▹Among The Four
The Hive has little interest in the vies for power and politicking of other Kiths… at least openly. What ploys might exist within the Hive itself are only ever spoken about in hushed whispers between the oldest members. Because many of those in The Hive vary greatly, the interactions they have with other Kiths do as well.
The Covenant
The strict devotion and reverence to an internal structure and rank based not on tier or age provokes disgust and hostility. More than any, the Hive detests those of this Kith and will actively seek to disrupt them. This often leads to games of tricks and attempting to ‘break’ pacts
The Veil
Little care exists for The Veil, though their squabbles over internal power struggles seem silly. Still, those of The Hive can be frequently found in houses of pleasure that The Veil offers for use.
The Seeming
Outright hostility to and even violence are common towards The Seeming. Animosity often turns to the point of conflict. While The Hive boasts a similar importance in individual strength and the importance of it… there is no consideration for tier or age in The Seeming. Members of The Seeming are young and have a manufactured strength forged not of age, but of something artificial.
Non-Kith Members
Frequent Hunts
The Hive’s “Hunts”, consisting of the rounding up of Mundane, happen with some regularity. Those rounded up are very often forced into contracts with their captors. While these Hunts are directed at Mundane, many members of The Hive don’t see much difference between a Mundane and new Chambion — some even making a point to target newly created Chambion Outsiders.
Most willing members of The Hive see the way in which power and control is treated within The Hive as a word of law.
▹Archaeon of The Hive: Nana Bosa, Queen of Worms
Originally a non-sapient collection of Worms, over eons trapped in The Space Between these tiny souls bound together to survive — growing stronger and gaining both power and a sense of self.
Nana Bosa can reshape herself into any variety of appearances depending on her desire. And while she tends to favor certain traits or forms, she could be anyone. Whatever form she’s in she may be easy to harm but is all but impossible to destroy — her body simply reforming upon any damage done.
The eldest of the four current Archaeons, Nana Bosa has seen other Kiths grow and fade away. The knowledge she holds is deep and long, but other than with the eldest of her Song, she shares little.
▹Role & Structure
The Hive is everywhere — scattered in a way most others can’t be. While those of power and influence are almost always Outsiders, and almost always of a high Tier. While there is little immediate way to climb up in The Hive, the simple fact is that the longer one is within this Kith the higher they will get, with Tier being the main thing which drives role.
